Interior Fitout Project Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Interior Fit-Out Project Engineer to oversee and execute high-end interior projects, specifically within retail mall environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in design interpretation, problem-solving, and stakeholder coordination, including managing mall and authority approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Execution: Manage the day-to-day operations and execution of interior fit-out projects in malls, ensuring high quality, timely delivery, and budget compliance.

Design Interpretation: Read and interpret complex architectural and interior drawings, and communicate technical requirements to subcontractors and site teams.

Site Coordination: Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure all site activities are progressing as per schedule.

Approvals & Compliance: Coordinate and obtain necessary approvals from mall management and local authorities (municipality, civil defense, etc.).

Problem Solving: Provide effective on-site solutions to unforeseen design or construction issues, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.

Client Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients and mall management, providing regular updates and managing expectations.

Quality & Safety: Ensure adherence to quality standards, health, and safety regulations across all project stages.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.

Proven experience (5+ years preferred) in managing interior fit-out projects in retail or commercial malls.

Strong technical knowledge in interior finishes, joinery, MEP coordination, and material specifications.

Proficient in reading and analyzing CAD drawings and technical documents.

Hands-on experience with project scheduling and site execution.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Familiarity with approval processes from mall management and regulatory authorities in KSA.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.

Arabic language skills are an advantage.
