Data Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in Data Warehousing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Qlik Compose and be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines that support our data warehousing initiatives. You will work closely with data analysts, business owners, and other stakeholders to ensure that data is reliable, accessible, and actionable. Additionally, proficiency in managing data dictionary, metadata, business glossary, and data lineage functions is essential. Familiarity with Qlik Sense is also preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Integration and ETL: Design, build, and maintain ETL pipelines to integrate data from various sources into the data warehouse. Implement data transformation steps, including data cleaning, validation, and enrichment.

Data Modeling: Develop and maintain data models that support business intelligence and analytics requirements (including vault data modeling type).

Qlik Compose: Utilize Qlik Compose for automating data modeling and ETL processes, ensuring efficient and scalable data workflows.

Data Dictionary Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary to ensure clarity and consistency in data definitions across the organization.

Metadata Management: Implement metadata management processes to track data origins, transformations, and usage throughout the data lifecycle.

Business Glossary Development: Create and maintain a business glossary to define business terms and metrics, promoting a common understanding across teams.

Data Lineage Implementation: Establish data lineage tracking to visualize data flow and transformations, ensuring compliance and data governance.

Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions that meet business requirements.

Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize data warehouse performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and processing.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2 to 4 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on Data Warehousing solutions.

Strong proficiency in Qlik Compose and Qlik Sense.

Familiarity with data modeling techniques and best practices.

Experience with data dictionary, metadata management, business glossary, and data lineage functions.

Knowledge of SQL and experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, or similar).

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
