Contract Engineer
Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Conditions: 21.000 SAR/month total package
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contract Engineer to join our team in Jeddah. The successful candidate will manage and oversee all stages of the contract negotiation and administration process, ensuring full compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards. This role requires strong technical expertise in contract management, excellent negotiation abilities, and a proven track record in executing contracts efficiently to support project success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, review, and negotiate contractual agreements, including terms, scope, pricing structures, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Lead contract negotiations with clients, vendors, and subcontractors, resolving discrepancies and achieving mutually beneficial agreements.
Monitor and enforce contract compliance throughout the project lifecycle, proactively identifying risks or breaches and implementing effective solutions.
Collaborate with legal, finance, and project management teams to provide contractual guidance and ensure fulfillment of all obligations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all contracts, amendments, change orders, and correspondence, ensuring easy accessibility and archiving.
Conduct risk assessments and analyze potential contractual disputes, providing resolution and mitigation strategies.
Contribute to the development and implementation of contract management processes, procedures, and best practices, and provide training and mentorship to junior contract staff.
Prepare comprehensive reports and analyses on contract performance, and recommend process improvements and contract optimization strategies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred; alternatively Business Administration, Contract Management, Law, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of proven experience in contract management with a focus on contract administration and negotiations.
In-depth knowledge of contract law, legal terms, commercial agreements, and the ability to draft and interpret complex contractual documents.
Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate contractual risks or disputes.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Proficiency in contract management software and document tracking tools.
Hands-on experience in both pre- and post-award stages of contracts, preferably as a Contract Engineer or Contract Specialist.
Strong understanding of construction and contract terminology, with knowledge of the Government Tenders and Procurement Law and its implementing regulations in Saudi Arabia.
Languages: Fluent in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
