Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will be responsible for the quality assurance and development of a global supplier network, ensuring all partners comply with Immensa’s requirements for on-demand manufacturing in the energy sector.
The SQE will drive supplier qualification, auditing, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure delivery of right-first-time, compliant, and reliable products.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supplier Qualification & Development
Lead supplier assessments and audits (remote and on-site) for capability, capacity, and compliance with ISO 9001, API Q1/Q2, AS9100, or other applicable standards.
Support suppliers in achieving qualification for on-demand manufacturing projects in the oil & gas/energy sector.
2. Auditing & Compliance
Act as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, performing audits to verify suppliers’ compliance with Immensa standards and regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain Supplier Quality Agreements (SQAs) to define expectations and responsibilities.
3. Quality Assurance & Corrective Action
Investigate non-conformances (NCRs) and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with suppliers using 8D, 5 Whys, or similar methodologies.
Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and ensure effective closure.
4. Supplier Performance Monitoring
Define and monitor Supplier Quality Metrics (KPIs), including PPM (parts per million), OTD (On-Time Delivery), and quality incident trends.
Maintain a supplier scorecard system to track and improve supplier performance.
Support supplier escalation processes and remedial plans for underperforming vendors.
5. Continuous Improvement
Partner with suppliers to identify opportunities for process optimization, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
Champion quality culture across the supplier network to align with Immensa’s vision for digital transformation.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/industrial/manufacturing engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
Experience:
3–5 years in Supplier Quality Engineering, preferably in oil & gas, energy, or advanced manufacturing industries.
Experience with precision machining, casting, additive manufacturing is highly desirable.
Certifications & Skills:
ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification (essential).
ASQ CQE / ASQ CQA or ASQ CSQP is preferable.
Familiarity with API Q1/Q2, AS9100, or similar standards.
Strong understanding of quality tools: FMEA, MSA, and control plans.
Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and Corrective/Preventive Action methods (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
Excellent stakeholder management and supplier engagement skills.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups, dashboards.
Experience with data analytics and visualization tools e.g., Power BI is a strong plus.
