Job Purpose:

Lead and oversee the strategic planning, operational management, and continuous improvement of the security and communication systems for DACO’s facilities. Ensure the seamless operation, safety, and compliance of all security and communication infrastructure, fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to meet operational standards and support the safety of all airport facilities.

Position Accountability Description:

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement a strategic plan for the security and communication systems across DACO, ensuring alignment with the organization's safety and operational priorities.

Oversee the daily operations of the security and communication systems, managing the team’s activities to ensure system functionality, timely issue resolution, and policy adherence.

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of security and communication systems, ensuring continuous improvement.

Operational Excellence

Lead the maintenance and upgrade of security systems (e.g., CCTV, access control) and communication systems (e.g., radio, intercom) to ensure the highest level of operational reliability.

Develop and oversee the implementation of a preventive maintenance schedule for all security and communication systems to reduce downtime and ensure uninterrupted functionality.

Manage the inspection and repair of security infrastructure, including access control, surveillance systems, and emergency communication channels, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Coordinate the integration of security and communication systems across all terminals and facilities, ensuring seamless coverage and quick response times in emergencies.

Ensure that security and communication systems are regularly tested, with immediate follow-ups on any issues identified to maintain safety and efficiency.

Collaborate with airport operations to ensure that communication systems meet the needs of both daily operations and emergency protocols.

Oversee the effective management of external service contracts and relationships with security and communication technology providers, ensuring high-quality, timely solutions.

Implement the latest technology and systems to enhance airport security and communication efficiency while ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.

Manage emergency response protocols, ensuring rapid and effective communication and security measures during critical incidents or system failures.

Ensure alignment of security and communication systems with broader airport safety protocols and operational requirements to enhance resilience and operational readiness.

Financial Management

Manage the budget for the Security & Communication Systems unit, tracking expenses and optimizing resource allocation to ensure cost-effective management of security infrastructure and communication systems.

Provide detailed budget reports to senior management, offering recommendations for financial planning, including future investments in advanced security technologies and communication system upgrades.

Compliance and Best Practices

Ensure that all security and communication system activities comply with local and international regulatory standards, including safety, privacy, and operational regulations.

Develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive disaster recovery and emergency preparedness plan for security and communication systems, ensuring continuous operation during emergencies.

Regularly audit system performance, compliance, and safety measures, making improvements to meet industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with key stakeholders across airport departments to ensure the integration of security and communication systems with overall airport operations, minimizing disruptions and enhancing overall efficiency.

Build and maintain strategic partnerships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely delivery of security and communication system services and adherence to quality standards.

Engage with external stakeholders such as government regulatory bodies and law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational standards for all security and communication systems.

Team Leadership and Development

Lead and mentor the security and communication systems team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Develop and implement training programs to enhance the technical expertise and knowledge of the team, ensuring they are equipped to manage and troubleshoot advanced security and communication systems.

Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and support team members in meeting their objectives and contributing to the overall security strategy.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing current security and communication practices, identifying inefficiencies, and applying best practices to enhance system performance and reduce costs.

Stay updated on the latest trends and technological advancements in security and communication systems, implementing cutting-edge solutions to improve operational readiness.

Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging team members to propose and implement new ideas to enhance system reliability and improve service delivery.

Minimum Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree: Information Technology, Communications Engineering and Electronics Engineering, Security Systems Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 8 years of total experience in managing security and communication systems.

Certification in Security Management (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional – CISSP) or equivalent.

Preferred: Certification in Communication Systems Management
