Job description:
The Network Engineer for Google Cloud Environment is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network solutions in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role involves optimizing cloud network performance, ensuring security, and supporting the organization's cloud-based applications and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud networking and a passion for innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Network Design and Architecture:
o Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available network architectures on Google Cloud.
o Evaluate and recommend networking solutions to meet organizational needs.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other cloud services.
• Network Configuration and Management:
o Configure and manage Google Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, and firewall rules.
o Implement and manage load balancers, VPNs, and interconnects.
o Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput.
• Security Management:
o Implement security best practices for cloud networking, including access controls and encryption.
o Monitor network traffic for security threats and vulnerabilities.
o Collaborate with security teams to manage incident response and remediation.
• Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
o Utilize monitoring tools to analyze network performance and troubleshoot issues.
o Conduct regular assessments of network health and capacity.
o Provide technical support for network-related incidents and outages.
• Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain documentation for network configurations, architectures, and procedures.
o Generate reports on network performance and incidents for management review.
o Create and update knowledge base articles for internal use.
• Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:
o Work closely with DevOps, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
o Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices and technologies.
• Continuous Improvement:
o Stay up-to-date with the latest Google Cloud networking technologies and industry trends.
o Participate in training and certification programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
o Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
o [3] years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on cloud environments.
• Certifications (Preferred):
o Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer
o Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
o CompTIA Network+ or similar networking certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
• Technical Skills:
o Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and GCP networking services (e.g., VPC, Cloud VPN, Cloud Load Balancing).
o Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, DNS, etc.) and routing concepts.
o Familiarity with security best practices in cloud environments.
o Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
o Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
o Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex network issues.
o Ability to analyze network performance data and make recommendations.

o Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
