Project Description:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented System Configuration Management - Software Deployment (SWD) Engineer to manage and support enterprise software configuration, packaging, and deployment processes. This role will be responsible for ensuring that software deployments are consistent, secure, and aligned with configuration management standards across various environments. The ideal candidate will work closely with IT, security, and application teams to automate, monitor, and improve the software deployment lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain software deployment packages for enterprise-wide distribution.
Manage and enforce configuration baselines, ensuring all systems meet organizational standards.
Implement and maintain system configuration management processes
Work with infrastructure and application teams to coordinate deployment schedules, rollback strategies, and testing.
Maintain accurate documentation of deployment processes, configuration items, and version histories.
Troubleshoot and resolve deployment-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to end-users.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and audit requirements.
Participate in change control, release management, and configuration audits.
Monitor deployment success rates and generate reports for operational review.
Support automation and continuous improvement initiatives for software delivery pipelines.
Work with the team to meet infrastructure needs and support daily operations.
Follow established best practices and standards in infrastructure service delivery.
Desired Skills And Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Typically, 3+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 1 year in software packaging and deployment management.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, VBScript, or Batch for automation.
Solid understanding of system configuration, Windows OS internals, and registry management.
Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management processes.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deployments in parallel.
Proven experience in infrastructure technology analysis
Proficiencies in data analysis and a basic understanding of technical concepts
Experience with DevOps CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps)

An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
