Senior Business Developer – Job Description

Reports to: Business Development Manager

Location: Saudi Arabia / GCC Region

Industry: Construction-Tech / B2B

Position Overview:

Strategic and hands-on role in customer acquisition, revenue generation, and partnership development for Buildmate (BM).

Senior member of the business development team, combining direct sales with market intelligence.

May mentor junior team members and improve sales processes.

Collaborate with Business Development Manager and Country Manager to expand BM’s presence in the construction ecosystem across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

Key Responsibilities:

1. High-Impact Business Development & Sales Execution:

Identify, approach, and onboard key contractors, suppliers, and equipment rental providers.

Conduct sales meetings, demos, presentations, and negotiations.

Manage a pipeline of qualified leads with high conversion rates.

Close mid-to-large-scale B2B deals and secure recurring business.

Assist in crafting custom solutions and offers.

2. Customer Relationship Management:

Serve as main contact for key accounts and maintain strong relationships.

Lead onboarding and training for new users.

Gather feedback and collaborate with product/support teams to improve user experience.

3. Market Expansion & Strategic Insights:

Help identify emerging opportunities and market gaps.

Monitor competitors, customer trends, and pricing strategies.

Contribute to sales strategy and suggest improvements.

4. Team Contribution & Leadership Support:

Mentor junior business developers.

Support training, reporting, and campaign rollouts.

Contribute to sales playbooks and process optimization.

5. Performance Reporting & Forecasting:

Maintain accurate CRM records.

Report on sales performance, revenue forecasts, and customer engagement.

Track KPIs like conversion rates, deal sizes, and client retention.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

Experience: 5+ years in B2B sales, business development, or account management (preferably in construction, SaaS, marketplaces, or industrial sectors).

Sales Excellence: Proven track record with enterprise/mid-market clients.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction supply chains, building materials, or equipment rental in KSA/GCC is a strong plus.

CRM Proficiency: Skilled in HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho, etc.

Relationship Management: Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

Initiative & Independence: Able to operate autonomously.

Team Collaboration: Willing to mentor and support a collaborative culture.

Language: Fluency in Arabic and English preferred.

Revenue generation and sales target achievement.

Onboarding of targeted new clients.
