Role Purpose

You will focus on developing customer applications for metal and polymer additive manufacturing. Development goes from initial benchmark and feasibility studies through validation and verification processes in collaboration with the customer.

Principal Accountabilities and Key Activities:

- Application Development

• Drive projects from development to volume production in collaboration with the QA and the Manufacturing team according to the application development procedure.

• Provide design feedback to customers to optimize products for additive manufacturing and post-processing

• Gain hands-on experience with machine and postprocessing

• Create or contribute to work instructions

• Lead application development programs from feasibility to design transfer

- Sales Support

• Support the account manager, salesperson, or business development manager to land accounts and close deals.

• Translate orders into a technical plan of execution, follow up on it, and make sure it results in the on-time shipment of customer-conforming parts.

• Perform benchmark/time studies to analyse machine capability for specific customer requests

• Supporting sales and marketing for demo parts

• Create quotations for NPI and volume products

• Coordinate presale demonstrations and support trade shows and open houses

• Proactively initiate new projects with existing accounts.

• Proactively engage new market opportunities together with sales and/or segment leadership

- Continuous Improvement

• Support continuous improvement across the company.

• Knowledge sharing and training are expected to continue growing and facilitate the adoption of NAMI technologies in our target markets.

• Provide feedback regarding field issues and customer requirements to the development teams to feed future product line improvements.

• Participation in improvement projects on known issues in production (software, hardware, or way of working).

• Improve supplier operations together with QA / Purchasing

• Assist in the development of key improvements to the company’s products

-Project Management

• Manage and support accounts, projects, and relations.

• Actively drive small accounts from the sales/business development perspective

• Manage supplier and customer relations

• Work with the Project Management Office (PMO) on multidisciplinary projects

- Knowledge Transfer

• Provide training and coaching to both colleagues and customers.

• Lead external technology-transfer projects

• Provide standardized training

• Coach Entry and Intermediate Application Engineers and mentor them.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering or science, and/or equivalent by experience.

• At least 4 years of prior experience in the field of application development, project management, or other relevant experience

• A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service

• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time for trade shows, customer meetings, and training

• Prior experience with Additive Manufacturing is a must.

Qualifications

• AM standards, certification, and qualifications are desirable.
